Cirrus SR22 Receives European Certification
CIRRUS DESIGN are one of the main sponsors of AeroExpo 2006. The company is one of the recognized global leaders in the manufacturing of personal transportation aircraft. Their popular composite airplanes, the SR20 and SR22, incorporate innovative advanced technologies into their design including CAPS TM – Cirrus Airframe Parachute System. In London, during April the company announced the news that the N-Registration is no longer required for European Customers of the CIRRUS SR22 - the world’s best selling aircraft; CIRRUS having received European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification for the type.
All CIRRUS SR series aircraft are Type Certified for import into the European Union
Effective immediately, all CIRRUS SR series aircraft are Type Certified for import into the European Union. Making the announcement, Cirrus Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, John M. Bingham said, "Now Cirrus owners can register their plane in their country of residence, as opposed to a US registration. This is significant news for Cirrus and our potential owners across Europe. The EASA certification will also expedite development of market specific products that address the wants and needs of our European customer."
CIRRUS Sr. Vice President of Engineering, Patrick Waddick, said, "EASA worked very closely with the Federal Aviation Administration, and CIRRUS to sustain the rapid pace of CIRRUS’ continual product enhancements." Alan Klapmeier, CIRRUS CEO stated, "The European market plays an integral role in the strategic growth of the company. Personal Aviation offers tremendous value and this certification expands our ability to deliver that value to European customers."
Bingham stated, "Our UK operation, based at Turweston Airport near Oxford is increasingly important as Cirrus develops its European distribution plan.
Along with the decision to partner with Britten-Norman for re-assembly of planes at its Isle of Wight plant, we are steadily ramping- up our ability to better sell and service new customers across the continent."
Europe is the second largest market for the highly regarded Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) equipped airplanes. Cirrus is represented across Europe by eleven strategically located Authorized Sales Centers that help demonstrate Cirrus aircraft and educate prospective owners about Cirrus products.
CIRRUS DESIGN are an AeroExpo main sponsor. They will be exhibiting their aircraft opn the Static Display area.

Garmin a World Leader in Navigation and Communication
Garmin® as leaders in Global Positioning System (GPS) technology and an innovator in consumer electronics are a principal sponsor of the AeroExpo Show. The company serves both the aviation and consumer markets.
Products are used in flying, boating, driving, hiking, and many other activities. Garmin are customer focused and committed to producing quality products that improve people's everyday lives.
What started out in 1989 with a handful of dedicated engineers and a great idea for a product has grown into the Global Positioning System (GPS) leader–both in sales and critical acclaim. From the time our first GPS handhelds supported the Coalition forces in the Gulf War to our current reputation as the first name in GPS innovation, Garmin has helped to take GPS to new heights by going beyond the ordinary features and performance found in typical GPS receivers. Today, Garmin has a diverse product line and distributors in virtually every part of the world. We have built and sold millions of GPS receivers. While our immediate success has resulted from developing innovative products for a variety of markets, our long-term success is based on our commitment to support our customers after the sale. We are winning over our new customers with quality products, tremendous value, and superior service, and we are working to turn them into loyal Garmin supporters for many years to come.
Included in Garmin’s current product range are:- Seamless Integration for OEM Cockpits -The G1000™ is a completely integrated avionics system designed to fit a broad range of aircraft models. It‘s an all-glass flightdeck that presents flight instrumentation, location, navigation, communication, and identification data on large-format, high-resolution displays. The digital data presentation on the G1000 puts all flight-critical information literally at the pilot’s fingertips. GNS 530 - The GNS 530 represents the single biggest idea in integrated avionics in years. Traditionally, it would take a host of components to provide the capabilities represented in this one sophisticated box. It is a WAAS-upgradeable IFR GPS, Com, VOR, LOC and glide-slope with color moving map all rolled into one. A TSO'd VHF Com offers a choice of 25 kHz or 8.33 kHz spacing for 760- or 3040- channel configuration respectively. A huge Jeppesen database (that can be updated with a front-loading data card) contains all airports, VORs, NDBs, Intersections, FSS, Approach, DPs/STARs and SUA information. The GNS 530 makes practical use of this information with features like intelligent frequency nomination.
