This has a further power upgrade from the 206L-3, using a 726 shp Rolls-Royce 250-C30P turboshafts, a 4,550 lb gross weight and strengthened tail rotor drives and main transmission. The Bell 206L-4 LongRanger IV single-engine turbine helicopter was one of several upgrades to the LongRanger product line. The range was derived from the original Bell 206 model.
With the 206L-4, Bell once again boosted the power of its LongRanger product, while retaining a spacious helicopter interior that still packs a punch for VIP and corporate users on the pre-owned market today.
The Bell 206L-4 entered production in the early 1990s, and was manufactured until 2017, when the LongRanger line ceased production. Bell manufactured over 1,700 LongRangers since the mid-1970s. According to JETNET data, 487 of those aircraft were 206L-4s.
