As a first-time user of AvBuyer I was not sure of the exposure, or support I would receive with my listing. When I reached out to a former fellow Vermonter David Olcott, I knew I had made the right decision in choosing AvBuyer as our marketing platform. It could not have been easier. The day the posting went up, there were so many people sending inquiries I could not believe it!

Tina Lindberg, Mansfield Heliflight

"I want to let you know that we really enjoy working with AvBuyer. The people make the difference. Friendly, diligent, professional, conscientious, and responsive. We tend to get more responses to ads through AvBuyer than your other competitors. Keep up the great work!"

Scott Wagner, Helicopter Marketing Associates, LLC

"We are using several vendors for the purpose of selling our aircraft. In this respect AVB has proven being the number one in both effective customer support and number of responses related to our advertisements!"

FAQs: Bell 412EP Turbine Helicopter for Sale

Here are the most Frequently Asked Questions for Bell 412EP Turbine Helicopter for sale
  • How much does a Bell 412 EP cost?

The Bell 412 EP costs between $2.6m for a 1994 model and $9.6m for a 2016 model, according to Aircraft Bluebook’s spring 2021 data. The value of individual aircraft depends on several factors, including maintenance condition, the time on the engines and airframe, status of the Life Limited Components, and the proximity of the next overhaul, for example. With so many aircraft specific factors, prices for aircraft differ – even between models built in the same year.

  • What competes with the Bell 412 EP?

There are a range of options that compete in the Bell 412 EP’s market segment, such as the Leonardo AW139, which can accommodate up to 15 passengers and is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PT6C-67C turboshaft engines.

  • What makes the Bell 412 EP stand out?

The Bell 412 EP offers the high passenger-carrying capacity of its predecessor, but with modernized engines and other upgrades that set it apart. As a result, almost two-thirds of all Bell 412 models shipped to date have been Bell 412 EPs.

  • What is the difference between a Bell 412 EP and a Bell 412 EPI?

The Bell 412 EPI replaced the Bell 412 EP on the production line, and is the most modern version of the aircraft. While the 363nm range is the same, the Bell 412 EPI is powered by Pratt & Whitney PT6T-9 Twin-Pac engines, which enable improved hot and high performance. This 412 EPI model also has a glass cockpit, with a Bell BasiX Pro Integrated Avionics System integrating a Garmin GTN-750 NAV/COM/WAAS GPS and other features.

Bell 412 EP Turbine Helicopter Overview

By Gerrard Cowan

The original Bell 412 was launched in 1981, with almost 900 models produced in the intervening decades across its various iterations. Specifically, 610 of those were Bell 412 EP models, according to JETNET.

The aircraft appeals to VIP and corporate customers who require the ability to transport relatively large groups, with capacity for 13 passengers and two crew members. The Bell 412EP has a range of 363nm. It was produced between 1994 and 2013 when it was replaced by the upgraded Bell 412 EPI (more details below).

What features does the Bell 412 EP offer?
The Bell 412EP brought a number of advances, including an increase on the range that was offered by the original 412 model. This largely owed to its enhanced Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6T-3DF engines.

What came before and after the Bell 412 EP?
The Bell 412 family was derived from the older Bell 212 model, which carved out particular appeal in the energy sector and was manufactured between 1968 and 1998.

The most modern variant of the 412 today is the Bell 412 EPI. Bell has also worked with Subaru to produce the Subaru Bell 412 EPX, a civilian version of a military aircraft that the two companies collaborated on.
