The Cessna Citation IISP was developed as Cessna aimed to better align its early jet products to compete with the predominantly single-pilot turboprop market; the 'SP' in the IISP's title represents its Single Pilot capabilities. Thus, in the Citation IISP, the Citation II was re-certified for single-pilot ops.

The Citation IISP is a Light Jet produced by Cessna seating up to 10 passengers. It was produced between 1978 and 1988, and Cessna produced 83 units according to JETNET. Aircraft Bluebook’s winter 2020 price data shows average prices of Citation IISPs range between $250k (1978 model) and $650k (1988 model).
What makes the Citation IISP stand out?
Practical and easy-handling, the important distinguishing factor for the Pratt & Whitney JT15D-4-powered, 1,190nm-range Cessna Citation IISP is the fact that it is re-certified for single pilot operations (hence the addition of ‘SP’ to its name). That’s important given that Cessna produced the model to compete with leading turboprops in the market at the time of its development.
