Gulfstream G450 Jets for Sale

The Gulfstream G450 Large Jet was a significant success story for Gulfstream over more than a decade, with hundreds of aircraft delivered during its production run of around 12 years.

An improved version of the GIV-SP model, the long range Gulfstream G450 uses technologies from the ultra-long-range G500/G550 models, including a PlaneView cockpit with EVS. The Tay 611-8C powerplants give the jet better payload and faster climb than its predecessors, and a longer maximum range of 4,400nm.

FAQs: Gulfstream G450 Jets for Sale

Here are the most Frequently Asked Questions for Gulfstream G450 Jets for sale
  • How much does a Gulfstream G450 cost?

The Gulfstream G450 costs between $10.50m for a 2005 model and $23.50m for a 2017 model, according to Aircraft Bluebook’s Winter 2023 data. These values represent average prices for the model years. Individual aircraft values could be above or below the average, depending on how well maintained the aircraft is, its proximity to the next major inspection or overhaul, the pedigree of its logbooks, and more.

  • What competes with the G450?

There are a few popular business jets vying for the same market as the Gulfstream G450, but, specifically, the Dassault Falcon 900EX and its 900LX successor are similar to the G450. The Falcon 900LX has a slightly higher maximum range (4,750nm) than the G450, and, likewise, typically carries between 12 and 14 passengers.

  • What makes the Gulfstream G450 stand out?

Gulfstream emphasises the G450’s increased comfort levels, with three distinct living areas and three temperature zones, while the aircraft’s 12 heated oval windows provide ample natural light. This is all part of its pitch for the long-range market, increasing the appeal to customers who need intercontinental flights at the highest levels of comfort. The Gulfstream G450 has a roomier cockpit than its predecessor, with one foot of extra length providing more comfort and a more usable workspace for the crew, according to the manufacturer.

  • What is the difference between a Gulfstream G450 and a Gulfstream G550?

The G450 and G550 Large Jets have a great deal in common, such as cockpit displays, electrical power systems and more. This was developed by Gulfstream with the end-user in mind – some operators may wish to use both aircraft in their fleet, so commonality allows for the reduction of spare parts and makes maintenance smoother. The Gulfstream G550, however, has significantly greater range than the G450, boasting the capacity to reach up to 6,750nm.

Gulfstream G450 Jet Overview

By Gerrard Cowan - Editor, Aircraft Reviews

With a typical capacity of between 12 and 16 passengers (though it can accommodate up to 19), the G450 made a strong impact on the market. According to JETNET data, 354 Gulfstream G450 jets were delivered by Gulfstream during a production run lasting 12 years between 2005 and 2017.

What features does the Gulfstream G450 offer?

The Gulfstream G450 features a Rolls-Royce Tay 611-8C engine, with a range of improvements (compared to Gulfstream GIV-SP), such as FADEC, modified high-pressure turbine, and more that lead to reduced fuel burn and improved operating margins. It has a range of 4,350nm at Mach 0.80.

The aircraft has a PlaneView cockpit, incorporating Honeywell Primus Epic architecture. PlaneView incorporated a range of technological advances that were highly innovative at the time, including a fully synchronous Flight Management System, allowing the pilot to integrate the FMS and the display map.

Such features ensure the aircraft continues to hold a strong position in the pre-owned market today.

What came before and after the Gulfstream G450?

The Gulfstream G450 was developed concurrently with the longer-range G550. It is an upgraded version of the Gulfstream GIV/GIV-SP/G400 model, which was the best-selling business jet in it class.

The G450 has an additional 250nm of range over the older aircraft, and includes a number of upgrades and alterations to the interior layout.
