The premier event for business aviation, NBAA's Annual Meeting & Convention will again bring the business aviation world together this month - October 20 through 22 - in Orlando, Florida. The now-familiar Orange County Convention Center will host the majority of the seminars, workshops, meetings, and of course, exhibit hall, while the static display of aircraft will be held at nearby Orlando Executive Airport.

Representatives from every segment of the business aviation industry, and from 82 countries around the world, will be present at this year’s event.

New this year, two days of education sessions have been scheduled that are tailored to Light Business Airplane (LBA) owners, pilots and entrepreneurs who may be considering the value an airplane can provide to their business (including a Single Pilot Safety Standdown). LBA sessions will identify the top five things that aspiring LBA operators should know; considerations for entrepreneurs wishing to upgrade their aircraft; and technologies available to help owners make the least expensive and most effective use of these aircraft.

Show organizers are hopeful of a decent turn-out, especially having featured in the trade show publication Trade Show Week magazine. The publication highlights the fact that in a challenging economy, trade shows like NBAA's Convention are especially valuable in connecting buyers and sellers and helping Exhibitors market their products and stay in touch with customers.

Indeed - NBAA concluded its 61st Annual Meeting & Convention in 2008 with 30,811 people in attendance, and heralded the number as ‘a solid turnout.’ That number showed up during a time of spikes in the cost of fuel, tightening credit markets and a challenging economy. "Business aviation has been impacted by adverse economic trends like every other industry, so we're pleased that our Convention continues to offer a valuable marketing and networking opportunity for our Member Companies," Ed Bolen, President & CEO, NBAA said at the time.

Trade Show Week's publishers surveyed a cross-section of executives and managers, and found that 96% of CEOs and other senior executives say they are attending their industry's most important events this year. The magazine points out: "...In a challenging economy it is even more important to keep up-to-date with industry trends, see new products and services, and maintain and build relationships – all areas in which events provide significant value and efficiency."

"Even in tough times – maybe especially in tough times – NBAA’s Convention will remain a critical event for promoting a positive image of business aviation, conveying valuable operational information and providing an outstanding forum for the hundreds of companies that depend on the show to market their products and communicate with their customers," reflected Bolen.

In anticipation of a continued strong attendance, as touched on above, NBAA has prepared a strong line-up of educational workshops, seminars and sessions helping to develop aviation careers, deepen knowledge, and further business and utilization of business aviation. Overleaf is a schedule of events as published on the NBAA website.
