BRM AERO, s.r.o. is a family company founded in late 2009 by a father and son duo, Milan and Martin Bristela.
In 1983, after graduating from the Military Technical Academy in Brno with a degree in design and production of aircraft, Milan joined LET Kunovice as an independent researcher in the department of aircraft fatigue, a company in which he gained experience in the construction of all-metal aircraft. In 1992, he was one of the first employees to join EVEKTOR, the first private aviation design agency. To begin with he was the head, later he created and ran the marketing department and later still he became the head of the ultralights sales department.
In 2002, Milan joined the Czech Aircraft Works company as the head of the quality department and in 2003 he became head of the development team. Over three years they developed and certified three new all-metal aeroplanes, namely the Mermaid amphibian, the high-wing Parrot and the low-wing SportCruiser. Considering all the experience Milan gained between 1983 and 2006, there came a moment when the inevitable question of what to do next arose. The answer didn't take long. At the time, his son Martin was actively involved in everything that had to do with aeroplanes as well. In addition to making aircraft models and reading up on the world of avionics, he used to spend his summer holidays working for his father's company. Milan therefore decided to design, develop and build an aeroplane that would embody his accumulated experience. Thus in the spring of 2007, his own first product, the Project NG 4 was born. There followed the NG 5 aeroplane in 2010, developed in the BRM AERO company founded in late 2009 and presented to the public at the AERO Friedrichshafen show in 2011 under the trade name BRISTELL.
After the successful launch, the company was able to continue developing new versions of the BRISTELL aeroplane. Hence, there was a model with a retractable landing gear presented at the AERO Friedrichshafen show in 2012, followed by a model with a tail wheel presented at the show in the following year. Between 2011 and 2013, the company tripled its production, enabling it to purchase land at the Kunovice airport. During late 2013 and early 2014, they built their first hangar covering an area of 1000 m² which became the home to the company offices, engine and avionics assembly line, test-flying aircraft department and shipping department. In 2014, another hangar was built and the rest of the company was able to leave their rented premises and move into the new place, bringing the whole company together under one roof.
In parallel with the building activities, both owners worked hard on developing the company's sales network. Currently, they have 25 trade agencies all over the world and the quality of manufacture is constantly improving, with attention paid to every little detail. Their distributors are highly qualified professionals trained in BRM AERO company to maintain BRISTELL planes in their territory. Many of them are pilots and some are running their own flight schools on BRISTELL planes. The company is reachable on the phone 24 hours daily. Each new customer becomes part of the BRISTELL family, and the company shares the experience and news with their customers. As a result, demand for BRISTELL aeroplanes has escalated to such an extent that in order to increase production, it was necessary to buy more land and build additional production halls. These have brought an additional 4000 m² of workspace; in total the premises now covers an area of 6000 m².
The company is now able to meet the increased demand for BRISTELL aeroplanes and expand the research and development base which was established in 2010.
In 2016, the company supplied more than 70 aeroplanes to the global market and in 2017 the expected number is more than 80 models to be supplied all over the world. BRISTELL aeroplanes are a favourite not only with individual private customers but they also enjoy great popularity in aviation schools. They offer a very spacious and ergonomically sophisticated interior the crew will appreciate, especially during longer flights, cutting edge avionics and optional features that will fulfil all expectations. Since the biggest emphasis is placed on the safety of the crew, the company uses only the best ultralight and light sport aircraft components available on the market.
The company's credo: Welcome in BRISTELL family
