Customer service and long-term client relationships.

A visit to IntelliJet’s headquarters at Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), in addition to the view of the busy ramp bustling with business jets just outside of the IntelliJet office windows, also offers a chance to watch the F-15 Eagles of the Florida Air National Guard 125th Fighter-Intercept Group performing dual afterburner take-offs and high speed passes over Runway 25.

It is fair to say the location of IntelliJet’s headquarters would put any visiting aviation buff into the highest spirits. The location is quite appropriate, as IntelliJet Group continues to expand into a number of divisions specializing in a wide array of aviation services.

Most readers will recognize the IntelliJet International name that is IntelliJet Group’s aircraft sales & acquisition core business unit, founded in 2005 by Executive Director Gary Spivack, a 30-year market veteran. Six years on, IntelliJet Group has evolved into three divisions and five office locations, and Spivack’s enthusiasm for the business and its future is both unmistakable and infectious.

In addition to the IntelliJet International Sales & Acquisition division, the company now offers aircraft leasing services through its Lease Connexion division (profiled in the September issue), and aircraft management services through its newly formed IntelliJet Management division.

The main Sales & Acquisition office is located at the Jacksonville, Florida headquarters with additional sales offices located in Beverly Hills, California and Moscow, Russia. Lease Connexion also operates from the Florida headquarters, while IntelliJet Management is based at the Denton Municipal Airport, in Denton, Texas - a suburb northwest of Dallas. IntelliJet Group also maintains a marketing office in southeastern Michigan.

“We started IntelliJet International with the goal of providing the best values in large-cabin, long-range luxury jets to our clientele,” Spivack recalls. “We have a discrete approach to marketing and quite often pursue aircraft that are never openly advertised for sale.” This business model has worked well for IntelliJet International, as indicated by an impressive list of aircraft the company has transacted since its inception.

Another of IntelliJet’s strengths is its worldwide network of offices and aviation industry partners, which enables the company to maintain a current and comprehensive picture of the business jet market.

“Information ages very quickly in our business, so we keep our finger on the pulse of the market,” Spivack adds. “We developed an in-house designed custom application that enables each member of our team to input and quickly access our market intelligence on a real-time basis anywhere in the world, and this allows us to respond quickly to time-sensitive opportunities.”

IntelliJet successfully weathered the recent economic storms, and saw in the resulting changed jet marketplace an increased demand for aircraft leasing. Many owners are looking to generate revenue from their aircraft, and there currently exists a supply of lessees that have been turned away from the now-stringent requirements instituted by financiers for purchasing aircraft.

This situation was at least partially responsible for the creation of the company’s new Lease Connexion division - but most recently, IntelliJet has made a move to expand into the aircraft management business too. “Over the years we have received many enquiries about management services and it finally became apparent that we should add management to our portfolio in order to fulfill the needs of our new and existing clients,” Spivack explains.

To that end, IntelliJet Management has been created in partnership with long-time aviation professional and associate Chris Hill. IntelliJet Management is headquartered at the Denton Municipal Airport just northwest of Dallas and the facilities there will serve as the nerve-center for the division’s flight operations.

“We’ve always concentrated on customer service and building long-term client relationships and this new venture will be no different,” Spivack continues. “For example, although IntelliJet Management will offer clients the opportunity to place their aircraft on charter, our primary focus will be to make sure the client has the best possible experience with their aircraft, instead of simply using the management agreement as a vehicle to accrue charter commissions.”

If history is any indication of the future, it is apparent that IntelliJet’s clients will be in good hands - whether buying, selling, leasing, or simply flying their aircraft with IntelliJet.
