Back to ArticlesRemember 2012? Justin Bieber was 18 years old and becoming a superstar and San Marino Aircraft Registry ”SMAR" was just a baby. In that year there were 672 new private jets sold and SMAR was just positioning itself in a well-established domain.
What started out as an idea from Aviation Registry Group Founder and Chairman Jorge Colindres, Ing. Marco Conti CAA Director General and Deputy Director General Capt. Dennis Michelotti, has grown into a giant in the aviation transportation world.
The Registry now operates in 178 cities, in 37 countries and has more than 100 experts positioned worldwide providing a unique regulatory and service platform.
It is estimated that its civil aviation efficiency has generated more than $5 billion in revenues to the world economy by simply providing quality and punctual services to operators, aircraft owners, banks and leasing companies. Most importantly, the CAA provides the guidance and international safety oversight for operators to keep their aircraft flying safely.
David Colindres, who is the President of SMAR, had the following to say in celebration of the five-year anniversary.
”Our system integrates with those organizations, people, activities, information and resources involved in moving and managing the aircraft all the way to the end-user. Our objective is to lead by doing what is right, to be competent as the industry evolves, provide timely service to our clients and share our success with those around us. As SMAR-grows we have decided to celebrate our anniversary in Singapore during their Airshow as Asian operator and owners keep showing interest for our unique service.”
The purpose of celebrating our 5 year's anniversary is to establish global awareness of who we are and on the important contribution SMAR makes to civil aviation generally and to social and economic development.
