    Real-estate mogul benefits from private jets


    Kris Krohn, a dynamic entrepreneur in his mid-forties, has made a remarkable impact in the world of real estate and business.

    With a substantial portfolio of 6,500 homes valued at $2 billion and a diverse range of investments in various business ventures, Kris has not only achieved financial success but also become a bestselling author and sought-after mentor.

    Residing near Provo, Utah, in the American Midwest with his wife and four children, Kris leads an exciting life that includes private jet travel and globe-trotting adventures.

    His journey to success began with a unique chapter in his life. After high school, he embarked on a two-year mission trip for his church in Germany, an experience that he says shaped his perspective and provided him with invaluable skills for challenging conversations and overcoming adversity.

    “Imagine going to a foreign country [that speaks] a language that you don't speak, and then talking about one of the more difficult subjects, such as the purpose of life and who are we?” he reflects. “I was on the Eastern bloc side of Germany [talking with] people who for the most part were cynical. They were pessimistic, they were angry...I think I came back way more prepared for the world because I had just done something so hard.”

    Kris concluded that if he could do that, he could do a whole lot of other things too – thus he attributes the tough, but profound experiences in Germany as preparing him for the challenges of the business world.

    Developing a Winning Real Estate Strategy

    Upon returning to the United States, Kris initially aspired to become a doctor. But, after encountering difficulties with chemistry courses, he shifted his focus to psychology earning a degree in marriage and family therapy from Brigham Young University (BYU).

    It was during his time at BYU that Kris's path toward entrepreneurship truly began to unfold. While studying, he started a parallel educational path attending numerous personal development and real estate investing seminars.

    By the time he graduated, he had amassed a portfolio of twenty-five homes, generating a monthly cash flow of $12,000 and eliminating the need for a traditional job.

    Kris's entry into the real estate market was grounded in a strategic approach. He meticulously compared 30 major real estate investment strategies, aiming to identify the most effective and efficient method. This endeavor led to the development of a comprehensive algorithm that favored purchasing single-family homes below the median market value and renting them out for approximately five years.

    Kris vividly recalls his first home purchase, a four-bedroom, two-bathroom house with a basement apartment, which he acquired at a $40,000 discount. The rental income from the basement apartment covered his mortgage, marking the beginning of his journey into real estate success.

    Kris's wife Kalenn was equally impacted by their initial success. Going from paying $400 a month for a basement apartment to living in their house for free while earning an additional $600 per month in cash flow was a transformative experience for the couple, igniting their passion for real estate investment, and prompting them to acquire a second property, then continue to build their portfolio.

    In addition to his real estate endeavors, Kris expanded his investments into various companies. His approach involved Consult for Equity, which encompasses mergers, acquisitions, start-ups, franchises, restaurants, software, and fintech companies.

    Kris leveraged his business acumen and network to assemble a team of high-powered executives from diverse industries. When tackling a new venture, he would deploy this brain trust to evaluate and enhance the business, resulting in successful endeavors.

    Discovering the Magic of Private Jets

    Kris's journey into private jet travel came later than he wished. After cadging a ride on a friend's private jet from California, he realized the incredible convenience and efficiency it offered.

    Private jet travel eliminated the hassles of commercial flying, such as TSA screenings, layovers, and limited schedules, and Kris recognized the potential for unlocking more opportunities in his professional life, particularly as an influencer with speaking engagements and business commitments.

    The tipping point came on a trip to see one of his UFC buddies fight in Mississippi. The arduous journey with the scheduled airlines came with multiple layovers, which convinced him that he needed his own private jet.

    He initially acquired a Nextant 400XT before adding a Dassault Falcon 50 to his personal fleet (which he occasionally charters when not in use).

    One notable aspect of Kris's private jet travel is his commitment to taking different people with him on every trip. He offers a free flight to anyone who spends over $25,000 on his programs. This practice has become the catalyst for engaging conversations and sewing up business deals at 45,000 feet.

    He recounts an instance where a fellow passenger shared a business idea they’d been developing for eight years. Kris's input and investment transformed the venture, resulting in a 45% stake in the company. (He reckons this literally has a $100 billion potential, on the small side, so don’t be surprised if Kris upgrades to a brand-new Bombardier Global 8000 next!)

    Ultimately, Kris notes, these private jet journeys have a magical quality that foster collaboration and innovation, making them a common platform for sealing lucrative business deals.

    Recession or Opportunity?

    In the midst of the current economic crisis, Kris identifies opportunities in the real estate market. With a shortage of 6.5 million homes in the United States, he views the high-interest rates as advantageous.

    His well-diversified model, spanning 324 markets across the nation, allows him to thrive in high-growth and high-cashflow markets where higher interest rates remain sustainable. Kris also anticipates potential changes in interest rates with a new Presidential administration, which could further stimulate economic activity.

    Kris's penchant for seizing opportunities extends beyond real estate. He recently discussed a ground-breaking innovation in the solar industry. A software company, leveraging AI technology, aims to simplify solar sales eliminating the need for traditional door-to-door or phone-based sales approaches.

    Kris, equipped with social media influence and an advisory board, stands poised to contribute to the company's success, highlighting the boundless opportunities for innovation and growth that often go unnoticed in mainstream media.
