Based on the FR172 Reims Rocket, Cessna produced the R172K Hawk, which was produced between 1977 and 1981 and was popular for use with floats. Capable of cruise speeds up to 131kts, earlier models incorporated a fuel-injected Continental IO-360K piston engine, while later models utilized the IO-360KB.
