Piper Aztec for Sale

In order to make the PA-23 Apache into a full six seater, Piper modified the aircraftas the PA-23-250 Aztec with a swept tail and two 250 hp Lycoming O-540 engines. There was also lower powered version - the Apache 235. The Aztec was updated, initially as the Aztec B with a longer nose and then as the Aztec C to F with Tigershark engine nacelles.

You cannot beat a Piper Aztec for a solid reliable well-built stable good value well performing twin. It can get in and out of 600m muddy strips that would rip the gear of other aircraft if you tried or fly non-stop to Corsica with 6 on board and luggage- and flying on one engine even when laden is a non-event (compared to a Seneca which goes down unless you nail blue line to a whisker). Looks are somewhat dated (some find them charming)- it has forward facing seats (not cabin class). It is not the fastest (160kts) but in reality that makes no more than a few minutes real journey time difference on a typical short journey- and on a longer journey with several people the extra payload means you may not need to refuel - every time weve contemplated upgrading to something faster/pressurised we conclude wed be spending a lot of money more for a few extra knots and lose versatility. Would recommend that anyone contemplating any light twin (or a 210) tries one.
