Here are the most Frequently Asked Questions for Airbus H125 Turbine Helicopter for sale
How much does an Airbus H125 cost?
An Airbus H125 costs $2.3m for a 2013 (AS 350B-3e) model, according to Aircraft Bluebook’s spring 2021 data. That price represents the average retail for an aircraft of that production year.
However, individual aircraft’s prices will vary depending on its age, the time on the airframe and engine, upcoming inspections or overhaul, maintenance condition, modifications and upgrades that may have been installed, and various other aircraft-specific factors. These will be the basis for buyers and sellers to negotiate a fair price for an individual Airbus H125 for sale.
What competes with the Airbus H125?
Alongside the Airbus H125, there are a range of other popular in-production single-engine turbine helicopters, including the Bell 407 GXi, which is powered by a Rolls-Royce 250-C47E/4 dual-channel FADEC engine, and can carry up to six passengers and one pilot. The Bell model offers a marginally shorter range of 337nm.
What makes the Airbus H125 stand out?
The Airbus H125 is a highly versatile helicopter with excellent performance characteristics, even in challenging flying conditions.
Its combination of built-in manoeuvrability, low vibration levels in the cabin, and excellent visibility makes it “a true multi-mission workhorse”, says Airbus, with VIP/corporate passenger transport one of many roles for which it is well suited.
What is the difference between an Airbus H125 and an Airbus H130?
The Airbus H125 and Airbus H130 share the same dynamic components. The H130 is known for its spacious cabin, with the ability to carry up to seven passengers and one pilot.
The H130 features a Fenestron tail rotor, a glass cockpit Garmin G500H, energy-absorbing seats in the rear row, an active vibration control system, and a range of other cutting-edge features.
Airbus H125 Helicopter Overview
By Gerrard Cowan - Editor, Aircraft Reviews
The Airbus H125 is at the cutting edge of its family of single-engine turbine helicopters formerly known as the AS 350 series. Introduced in 2011, the Airbus H125 has made a significant impact on the market for single-engine, multirole helicopters.
Previously known as the AS 350B-3e, according to data sourced from JETNET, there are over 1,000 Airbus AS 350B-3e/Airbus H125 units in service around the world. Airbus places particular emphasis on the aircraft’s high-performance missions in hot and high conditions.
According to Airbus Corporate Helicopters (ACH) – the company’s specialist VIP and corporate helicopter arm - the H125 typically holds up to five passengers in VIP configuration, with one or two pilots. It offers a range of 340nm.
What features does the Airbus H125 offer?
The Airbus H125 is powered by a Safran Arriel 2D turboshaft engine, with full authority digital engine control (FADEC). It can be configured for four, five, or a maximum of six passengers, with the four-passenger set-up viewed as ideal for private and Business Aviation.
What came before and after the Airbus H125?
The Airbus H125 (formerly named the AS 350B3e) is part of a family with a long-running pedigree, stretching back to the Eurocopter AS 350B, which was itself succeeded by the AS 350B-1, the AS 350BA, the AS 350B-2 and the AS 350B-3.
The successive versions usually embedded a higher-rated engine: a 732shp Safran HE Arriel 1D1 turboshaft on the AS 350B-2, then an 847shp Safran HE Arriel 2B1 on the AS 350B-3, and now a 952shp Safran HE Arriel 2D on the Airbus H125/AS 350B-3e (along with increased gross weights and external load capability).
The Airbus H130 is another modern entrant of the AS 350 family. Formerly known as the EC130 T2, the H130 has the same powerful Arriel 2D engine as the Airbus H125/AS 350B-3e but has a more spacious cabin for seven, plus a pilot.
